Sankofa Saturday School

Sankofa Vision, Inc. coordinates Sankofa Saturday School, a FUN
and INNOVATIVE youth garden program for elementary-level children.

Sankofa Saturday School takes place during the summertime at Sankofa
Gardens. In a safe and pleasant outdoor setting, boys and girls explore the
joy and wisdom of gardening. The children focus on a special theme and
learn how to grow vegetables and other plants. The summer program
concludes with
The Harvest Jubilee, a showcase of the children's
achievements for an audience of families and friends! Our caring and
talented program instructors include certified teachers, gardeners,
professional artists, and parent volunteers.

Sankofa Saturday School features a multi-faceted curriculum:

  • Children practice teamwork and problem-solving.

  • Children develop leadership abilities.

  • Children learn about gardening, health, and nutrition.

  • Children express creativity through Visual Art, Music, Dance
    and more.
